Mr. John Slater

At the Chatham Kent Health Alliance on Monday January 2nd, 2012, Mr. John “Jack” Slater of Chatham in his 82nd year.  Cherished son of the late Albert and Agnes Slater.  He is survived by his wife Helen (Gwilt) of Chatham.   Beloved father of Darcy of Chatham, Stephen and his wife Sue of Kanata, David and his friend Lynn of Mississauga, Lori Wammes and her husband Ed of Bothwell, and Paul and his wife Lisa of Ayr.  He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lyndsay, Breanne, Jason, Mark, Rachel, Nicholas, Kyle, Noah and Kate, and great grandchildren Grace and Tyler.  Predeceased by his brothers Gordon and Vernon, and his sister Betty Hyatt.  He was a supply supervisor for the Ministry of Transportation.  Jack was a member of Parthenon Lodge #267 Chatham.  A private funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Filyer of Bothwell Baptist Church officiating.  Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements entrusted to the Alexander & Houle, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710.
