Mr. Rudolph Znachor

Rudolph “Rudy” Znachor, 85 years old of Chatham, Ontario, passed away in the late hours of Saturday, January 7, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family.  Born in Hrádok, Slovakia, immigrated to Canada age 8.  Son of Paul and Elizabeth (Filip) Znachor.  Survived by his wife Mary (Kacer) Znachor, his one and only love.  Daughters, Carol Adams (James) of Chatham, and Joanne Prevett (Joseph) of Thunder Bay.  Grandchildren, Julie and Jaclyn Adams, Lindsay Martin (Chad Fleming), Nick Prevett.  Great Granddaughter, Hailey Fleming.  Rudy enjoyed family summer road trips, woodworking and spending time with his granddaughters.  He served in the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII  and spent most of his life as an auto mechanic. Rudy was known for “doing it the right way and not just getting it done”.  Cremation with a memorial service at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home,  245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710.  Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the V.O.N.
