Mr. Clayton Mifflin

At Copper Terrace Nursing Home, Chatham, on Thursday April 26th, 2018, Mr. Clayton Mifflin of Chatham in his 89th year.  Cherished son of the late Burwell and Anna Mifflin.  Beloved husband of the late Thelma (2017).  Loving father of Tim Mifflin and his wife Deborah of Chatham, and Sandra Couture and her husband Marcel of Chatham.  He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Christopher, Kyle and Amanda.  Dear brother of Don and his wife Irmgard Mifflin, and Chere McFadden, and predeceased by his brothers Murray and Clair.  Dear brother-in-law of Audrey White and Maxine Mifflin.  Clayton was the General Manager of the Chatham Credit Bureau for over 41 years.  He was a dedicated member of Chatham Minor Hockey for over 35 years.  He held every Executive position on the Chatham Minor Hockey Board, including President from 1981-1983.  He was the recipient of the William “Bill” Garden Memorial Award as an outstanding member of Chatham Minor Hockey in 1978-79, and he was the 5th person to be awarded the Lifetime Membership Award.  In 68 years Chatham Minor Hockey has only awarded the Lloyd Davidson Award 9 times.  He was the 6th person to receive this coveted award.  Clayton was a volunteer with the First Presbyterian breakfast program, a former active member of Victoria Ave. United Church, and a committed volunteer with Chatham Goodfellows.  Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Monday May 7th with visiting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Mike Maroney officiating.  Interment Arnold Cemetery.  Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider First Presbyterian Breakfast Program.  On-line condolences may be left at www.alexanderfuneralhome.ca       

Visitation:  Monday May 7th with visiting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Memorial Service:  To follow at 1 p.m.
