Mrs. Lynn Kosik

At the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Monday August 20th, 2018, Mrs. Lynn Kosik of Chatham in her 77th year.  Cherished daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Robertson.  Beloved wife of John.  Loving mother of Jim and his wife Louise, Cheryl Brooks and her husband Garry, Cathy Ouimet and her husband Marc, all of Chatham, Dan and his wife Laura of Blenheim, and John and his wife Michelle of Chatham.  She will be lovingly remembered by her seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Kyle and Sheila Kosik, Ryan Kosik (Stephanie Gilvear), Justin and Elyse Kosik and baby John, Heather Kosik (Devon Brown), Jeff Brooks, Rachel Brooks (Chris Langille), and great grandson Zachary,  Kevin Brooks, Danielle Ouimet, Devin Ouimet (Emma Nero), and Lauren Ouimet, Paige Kosik (Chris Colasanti), Owen Kosik (Brittany Billard), Wade Kosik, Avery Kosik, Jacob Kosik, Joshua Kosik, and Maxwell Kosik.  Dear sister of Jim and his wife Loretta Robertson of Chatham, and Sharon Duchene (the late Leonard) of Wallaceburg.  Predeceased by her brother Mike Roberston. Upon being diagnosed with ALS over 2 years ago, Lynn immediately decided that upon her death that she would make a donation to the London Health Sciences for ALS research.  This was an example of her selflessness and desire to help others in the future that may contract this dreadful disease.  The family would like to thank Sharon Coleman (ALS Society of Windsor Essex County) who supported Mom personally from the beginning of her diagnosis.  A heartfelt thank you to the PSW’s from Bayshore who provided care and dignity throughout her illness, Dr. Shoesmith and Dr. Leasa of University Hospital ALS Team, Nurse Practitioner Rita Dibiase, Lisa DeBeck, and Cheryl Somers all of LHIN (CCAC), and Dr. Mayo, Amy, Lola and Kaitlyn for their compassion and kindness for Mom while at the Chatham-Kent Hospice.  Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Wednesday August 22nd with visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday August 23rd, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 52 Croydon St Chatham, with celebrant Father Don Pumputis.  Parish prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m.  Cremation to follow with interment to take place at a later date.  Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the ALS Society of Essex County.  On-line condolences may be left at www.alexanderfuneralhome.ca

 

Visitation:   Wednesday August 22nd, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m.       

Funeral Mass:  Thursday August 23rd, 2018 at 11 a.m.

Celebrant:  Father Don Pumputis

Parish Prayers:  Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Cremation to follow with interment to take place at a later date.
